On April 23, 24, and 25, 2025, the Big Creek Group, led by Ms. Cuevas, hosted another impactful training session under the ISPS Code framework: ISPS Drill – Activation of the Ship Security Alert System (SSAS). With over 40 participants in attendance, this course emphasized real-time threat response and cross-agency coordination to strengthen port security.
Training Focus and Objectives
This specialized training was designed to boost awareness and enhance security response protocols surrounding the SSAS activation in port facilities. Participants explored:
- How and when to activate the SSAS
- Effective communication and coordination between vessel crews, port security teams, and external authorities
- Mitigation strategies against threats such as piracy, unauthorized boarding, and terrorism
Through scenario-based drills, attendees gained firsthand experience in managing simulated security alerts, ensuring preparedness for real-world incidents.
Commitment to Continued Security Excellence
This training further reflects Big Creek Group’s ongoing dedication to professional development, port facility resilience, and ISPS Code compliance. We thank all participants for their active engagement and look forward to delivering more targeted training sessions.
