The Belize Port Authority (BPA) held its second annual Maritime Education Expo today at its headquarters on the George Price Highway. In collaboration with several organizations, including the Port of Big Creek, the expo aimed to raise awareness among students about the wide range of career opportunities within the maritime industry.
Students from various high schools attended the event, which featured an exciting lineup of educational sessions and interactive exhibits. The BPA also recognized high school students who excelled in the Maritime Educational Essay competition, awarding them for their creativity and insight.
The Port of Big Creek was proud to participate in this expo, using the opportunity to educate students on the essential services of a port and the diverse careers available within the maritime sector. Engaging with the younger generation was not only rewarding but also an important step toward ensuring that these future leaders gain the knowledge and inspiration to join and shape Belize’s maritime industry.
Events like these strengthen the connection between industry professionals and students, offering a glimpse into a promising career path that supports the growth of Belize’s economy. The Port of Big Creek looks forward to continuing to inspire and support future maritime professionals.
