Building on the momentum of our recent training initiatives, the Big Creek Group successfully conducted the ISPS Drill: Bomb Threat online training from January 21 to 23, 2025. This specialized drill was designed to enhance port facility personnel’s preparedness in responding to bomb threats and reinforce compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Interactive and Engaging Training Sessions
Over 40 participants participated in this three-day virtual training course, led by our expert instructor, Ms. Cleopatra Cuevas. The drill aimed to improve awareness, test security measures, and assess the port’s ability to detect, manage, and neutralize potential threats. Participants gained practical insights into:
- Identifying suspicious behavior and packages
- Executing emergency response procedures
- Coordinating with security teams and external authorities
- Strengthening threat mitigation strategies
Each session was held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with different sets of participants attending on each day. This structure allowed for an interactive learning environment where trainees could actively engage in discussions and simulated exercises.
Oral Presentations by Security Experts
Security Supervisor Mr. Eldon Cadle and Health & Safety Officer Mr. Romario Romero conducted oral presentations after each session to reinforce the lessons learned. Their insights focused on emergency procedures, threat response strategies, and protocols for handling potential risks within the port facility. Their expertise provided a comprehensive understanding of real-world applications, ensuring attendees were well-equipped to handle security incidents effectively.
A Commitment to Safety and Security
The ISPS Drill: Bomb Threat training is part of Big Creek Group’s mission to enhance security preparedness and professional development within the maritime industry.
By continuously offering high-quality training, we aim to foster a culture of vigilance, preparedness, and compliance with international security standards.
