Enhancing Security and Emergency Response

Building on our commitment to safety and security, the Big Creek Group successfully conducted another three-day training session on March 20, 21, and 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This session featured two critical courses to strengthen the port facility’s emergency preparedness and security measures.

Port of Big Creek Emergency Warden Training

Led by Ms. Cuevas and Mr. Cadle on the first day, this refresher course was designed to equip Emergency Wardens at the Port of Big Creek with essential knowledge and skills to manage evacuations and emergency responses effectively. The training focused on:

  • Reinforcing key responsibilities of emergency wardens

  • Updating participants on new procedures and equipment

  • Conducting practical scenarios to ensure real-world readiness

This training ensured that wardens remain confident and capable of handling emergencies efficiently.

ISPS Drill: Security Surveillance Equipment Malfunction

Security surveillance systems play a vital role in port security, and this specialized drill emphasized the risks and response strategies associated with equipment malfunctions. Participants were trained in:

  • Understanding international security regulations

  • Implementing key physical security measures

  • Executing emergency response protocols in case of surveillance failures

  • Engaging in scenario-based exercises to assess security readiness

This training enhanced the port’s ability to maintain security, respond effectively to surveillance failures, and implement corrective actions in compliance with the ISPS Code.

A Successful Training Initiative

With about 50 participants, this training session reinforced Big Creek Group’s dedication to ensuring workplace safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with international security standards. Attendees engaged in interactive learning, gaining valuable hands-on experience to enhance their roles within the port facility.

As we continue to prioritize professional development and security preparedness, the Big Creek Group remains committed to offering specialized training opportunities. We extend our gratitude to all participants and instructors who contributed to making these sessions a success.

Stay tuned for more upcoming training programs as we work together to build a safer, more resilient port facility!
