His achievement is a significant one: at this moment, he stands as the youngest licensed ship pilot in the country.

A Ship Pilot’s role is one of the most demanding in the port — boarding vessels at sea and taking command of their navigation through our channels to ensure a safe arrival at berth. Every docking is a live calculation involving tides, currents, wind, and vessels that can stretch hundreds of meters in length. For Darren, stepping into that responsibility at such a young age speaks to both his talent and his preparation.
