Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming 90 bright and energetic students from Independence Primary School to the Port of Big Creek for an exciting educational field trip. Their visit brought curiosity, laughter, and a whole lot of learning as they explored how the port operates behind the scenes.
The students learned about the importance of port operations in Belize, how cargo moves through the facility, and the many different teams who work together to keep the port running safely and efficiently. Our staff were happy to walk them through the basics of port security, marine operations, and equipment safety—making sure to keep everything fun and easy to understand.
One of the highlights of the visit was seeing the excitement on the children’s faces as they viewed machinery up close and watched how our teams operate every day. The students asked fantastic questions and showed genuine interest in how the port supports the country’s economy.

As the tour wrapped up, the students left with new knowledge, big smiles, and hopefully a spark of inspiration for future careers in marine, logistics, engineering, or security.

We are always proud to support educational initiatives and community engagement. A huge thank-you to Independence Primary School for choosing the Port of Big Creek as part of their learning journey — we look forward to hosting many more future leaders!
