On Thursday, June 19, 2025, the Big Creek Group proudly joined global maritime communities in celebrating the Day of the Seafarer under the theme “My Harassment-Free Ship.” The event, held at the Port of Big Creek parking lot, brought together seafarers, maritime professionals, and industry supporters for an afternoon of recognition, unity, and celebration.
With the colors navy blue, gold, and white setting the tone, the day began with an official ceremony hosted by the dynamic Ms. Allison Mendez from the Belize Port Authority. The national anthem marked the opening segment, followed by warm welcomes from Mr. Anique Sabal, Technical and Seafarer Manager at IMMARBE. Insightful remarks were also shared by Mr. Zaid Flores, Managing Director of Big Creek Group.
The highlight of the day was the awards and certificate ceremony, where seafarers were recognized for their professionalism, innovation, and commitment to safety. Honorees received awards in the following categories:

Certificates of appreciation and awards were presented and handed out by Mr. Sabal and Mr. Flores.
The event closed with a lively networking reception filled with music, refreshments, and camaraderie, offering a well-deserved moment of joy and connection for those who spend much of their lives at sea.
